The role:
We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Insurance Underwriter with a minimum of three years' Legal expenses underwriting experience. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within our clients underwriting team, where you will analyse, evaluate, and make underwriting decisions in alignment with guidelines and recommendations, while collaborating closely with analysts and other team members.
Responsibilities:
Reviewing and analysing new insurance applications for risk compliance within underwriting guidelines.
Conducting thorough risk assessments and making recommendations for coverage.
Meeting with clients and brokers to build relationships and help develop new business and retain existing clients.
Collaborating with brokers to negotiate terms and conditions for insurance policies.
Providing technical underwriting support and guidance to internal teams.
Monitoring industry trends and regulatory changes to ensure compliance.
Participating in regular training sessions to stay updated on underwriting practices and procedures.
Contributing to the development and enhancement of underwriting guidelines and processes.
Assisting with the resolution of complex underwriting issues and inquiries.
Conducting portfolio reviews to identify areas for improvement and optimisation.
Engaging in continuous professional development activities to enhance underwriting skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
Three years' Legal expenses underwriting experience or similar experience
Strong analytical and numerical skills with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a high-performance, ambitious team environment.
Proven track record of making sound underwriting decisions and meeting targets.
