The Opportunity

As part of the People Team, the Communications and Engagement Manager role is new to the organisation and presents an opportunity for the right candidate to make their mark. You will work closely with the Chief People Officer defining, developing, driving, and delivering a Communication and Engagement strategy to support the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team in communicating and gaining participation in support of the organization’s strategy and cultural aims, enabling it to achieve the ambition of 'One United and Diverse Community.’

You will lead and schedule positive, innovative and ambitious organisation-wide two-way communications through a broad mix of media, to facilitate the ongoing integration of the 'One Landmark’ identifier, consistently promoting the Remarkable Values, specifically the value of "Communication; it’s in our DNA" and role modelling the Leadership Principles of the organization throughout.

The role will involve:

  • With the Chief People Officer, partner with Senior Leaders to provide a comprehensive annual and quarterly communications plan to create regular, consistent, and clear communications to inform, engage and encourage participation of team members through multiple formats.
  • Manage and develop high quality communications and materials related to projects, campaigns and initiatives, growing audience reach, meeting deadlines and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensuring that courage, honesty, transparency and respect underpin all internal communications, jargon-free according to the Remarkable Values, and personally role modelling the Remarkable Values.
  • Supporting the Chief Executive Officer in providing high quality, 'Authentic, plain speaking’, regular output to keep Our People abreast of activities through a variety of interactions to motivate and inspire Our People and continually improve organisational participation.
  • Taking regular soundings with Our People to ensure that communication has landed in the way in which it was intended; calibrating over time to develop a recipe for ongoing, coherent Communication and comprehensive feedback mechanisms.
  • Working alongside Leaders, Managers and People Leadership Team to develop information and communication campaigns as required, always maintaining control and governance of the communication plan and tone of voice.
  • Support the communications and Engagement development of Leaders and Managers, improving the coherence of messaging throughout the organisation working with and managing stakeholder expectations.
  • Working with the People Team to develop and maintain a positive internal employee brand and reputation, that appeals to current and prospective team members.
  • Working with the internal culture focussed Culture Crew, drawn from Our People across the organisation, to ensure coherence of messaging around the 'One Landmark’ culture and Remarkable Values.
  • Developing a positive and resourceful relationship with the Employee Voice Forum, to facilitate listening and responding to the organisation.

About You

To be successful as the Communications and Engagement Manager, you will be able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of practical applications of Communication and employee engagement methodologies. You will have experience in working with and a sensitively to, an organisation’s strategy, vision and values along with the ability to comprehensively relay them in a compelling and relevant way.

You will also have/be:

  • An expert in the use of technology to inform and engage, creating a two-way dialogue with team members.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communications along with the creative ability to convey meaning through visual auditory, and kinaesthetic means.
  • Ability to connect with the people of an organisation, and an instinct for identifying and creating content that will engage team members and deliver the priorities outlined in the communications strategy.
  • Ambitious and determined to succeed.
  • Graduate Calibre
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Suite and Tools such as Dotmailer, WordPress etc.
  • Proficient in Canva
