Job description

We are looking for a Communications and Engagement Manager to join our team in Wales.  This is a 12 months fixed term contract.
Depending on your location and preference, you will be based in either the Cardiff or Newtown office. You are welcome to be based in the office full time, or a combination of home and office working. You will occasionally need to travel within Wales to work with community groups and charities, and to other offices across the UK to work with colleagues.

You will be responsible for leading on the delivery of our multi-disciplinary communications work to a range of audiences. This includes promoting our grant programmes, and telling the stories of community groups and charities which have successfully applied for a grant from us.
You will manage successful, targeted and strategic communications activity, taking an integrated, but digital first approach, maintaining and developing a strong presence through digital channels, including social media, email marketing and blogs.

Working with the Head of Communications and Engagement you will be responsible for protecting and enhancing our bilingual brand.

You will have the ability to engage in horizon scanning in relation to the context in which we operate - with a strong and considered response in terms of communications approaches that strengthen our position and that of the community projects we fund.

You will be able to demonstrate strong reputation management skills, e.g. handing sensitive issues with media and stakeholders.
Welsh language skills are desirable. We can provide support and training to learners. Our team are currently all Welsh speakers, so there is always plenty of opportunity to use and practise your Welsh, and work through the medium of Welsh is that’s your preference.
