Communications and Marketing Coordinator (maternity cover)

21 hours per week (flexibility required)

£14,968 (full time equivalent £24,947)

Chelmsford campus

 

We're looking for a vibrantpassionate and creative individual to join our Communications team. Is that you?

As a Communications Coordinator, you will play a key role in communicating directly with our student body across our campuses in Chelmsford, Cambridge, London and Peterborough campuses. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our organisation through our communications strategy.

 

What you will be doing

  • Coordinating the production and distribution of targeted email newsletters, developing content ideas, editing copy and reporting on statistics for all of our campuses (Chelmsford, Cambridge, London and Peterborough)
  • Supporting Students’ Union departments to create engaging, relevant and targeted communication to support the delivery of organisational objectives.
  • Supporting internal teams and our Executive Officer team with their campaigns to develop blogs, news and email writing skills in line with our tone of voice guidelines.
  • Support internal teams on their communication needs for assigned projects throughout the year.
  • Distributing posters and marketing materials across the Chelmsford campus, ensuring communications are always relevant and up to date.
  • Demonstrating exceptional attention to detail throughout all work and where required provide editorial advice on a variety of copy and digital communications such as flyers, reports, blogs, email marketing and web content to ensure the highest professional standards are maintained.
  • Undertaking research and analysis of communication data to inform the Union’s projects and strategies.

 

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience or a strong passion for copywriting
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to create engaging content
  • Ability to work on several projects at once
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail throughout all work

 

Skills that will help you

  • Experience of using Mailchimp
  • Time management and prioritising skills
  • Customer focused with the ability to work with a range of people

 

Where will you be working?

This role will be based at the Chelmsford Campus. Please note that travel to our Cambridge campus will be required on occasion.
