Job description

What we’re looking for:

  • Are you a skilled communicator with the ability to adapt your writing style to different audiences and channels?
  • Do you prioritise equality, diversity, and inclusion in your communications, ensuring accessibility for all?
  • Can you effectively manage multiple tasks with exceptional organisational and time management skills?
  • Are you passionate about helping people flourish and making a positive impact through effective communications?

If you answered yes to these questions, we have a great opportunity for a Communications Officer to join us on a permanent and full-time basis.

A bit about the role:

As a Communications Officer, you'll play a vital role in delivering integrated regional communications to meet our goals. From developing a range of content for various channels to providing support and counsel to colleagues, you'll be at the heart of our communication efforts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering communication plans for projects such as regeneration consultations, new developments, communities, and resident engagement events.
  • Proactively identifying and writing compelling content to effectively communicate messages to our target audiences.
  • Planning, writing, and collaborating with colleagues across the communications team to deliver a variety of resident and customer communications, including letters, presentations, newsletters, web articles, and social media posts.
  • Acting as a reporter in our communities, creating news articles, capturing photography, and producing video content for use across multiple channels.
  • Creating content for national campaigns supported by our organisation and adapting content to align with our brand and values.

This role will involve a minimum of two days per week on-site, either at our offices or in the community.

A bit about us:

160 years after it was established, Peabody is one of the oldest not-for-profit housing associations in the UK.

The Peabody Group is responsible for more than 107,000 homes, with around 220,000 residents across London and the Home Counties. We also have around 20,000 care and support customers.

Our purpose is to help people flourish, and we are getting closer to residents by taking a local approach.

We are committed to delivering a responsive and easily accessible repairs service and investing in our existing homes so they are safe and well maintained. Our retrofit projects will make thousands of our homes more energy efficient.

We work with councils and communities to promote economic inclusion, tackle inequality and poverty, and prioritise wellbeing.

Here's just a few of the benefits for working at Peabody:

  • Flexible and hybrid working (depending on the role)

  • Up to 30 days’ annual holiday plus bank holidays

  • Competitive salaries that are benchmarked regularly against current market rates

  • Two additional paid volunteering days each year

  • Flexible benefits scheme, including family friendly benefits and access to a discount portal

  • 4 x salary life assurance

  • Up to 10% pension contribution

Are you ready to apply?
