About the Role Are you an experienced, creative and self-reliant communications professional? Would you like to be part of a close-knit team working for one of the most highly regarded universities in the UK? We are looking for a School Communications Officer to join the School of Education, Communication & Society at King’s College London. The role offers an exciting opportunity to raise the profile of the School, celebrate our students and work closely with our academics. You will play a vital part in increasing awareness of our research, through proactively seeking out compelling stories and writing engaging news and features for the website. You will be expected to create videos and social media content, maintain and develop the School’s webpages, and support colleagues with events. You will work closely with communications and marketing colleagues across the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy and the ideal candidate will have experience of working with a variety of stakeholders. This is a part time post (28 Hours per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract. About You To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria Educated to degree level or equivalent (OR has relevant work experience within the Higher Education sector) Outstanding communication, writing and interpersonal skills with evidence of building good working relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Good knowledge of all communication platforms, including social media, and their use as part of an integrated communications strategy. Proven ability in newsgathering and in creating engaging, accurate written and digital content within tight timescales. Experience of managing multiple work-streams independently.
