SalarySchool Premises Officer
- Location: South London
- Job Type: Full-time, Shifts (7am - 4pm / 5pm)
- Salary: £15 - £18 per hour
We are currently recruiting for an experienced School Premises Officer to work in Lewisham, South London.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Grounds and building security – includes keyholding and closing/locking up buildings
- Opening the buildings as and when required
- Ensure health and safety statutory and regulatory checks are scheduled and up to date – includes arranging remedial works
- Carrying out and recording daily, weekly and termly checks.
- Ensure buildings and grounds are secure.
- Responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the premises – including buildings, fixture and fittings and furniture.
- Carry out minor repairs.
- Carry out decoration works on a rolling programme.
- Porterage - including transporting items to and from campuses in school minibus, assisting with displays and moving furniture within buildings.
- Ensure grounds are maintained to a high standards – includes daily litter picking
- Ensure the buildings are maintained to a high standard – including removal of graffiti, unblocking toilets.
- Placing orders for materials required and certifying goods received.
- Monitor the work carried out by external contractors to ensure they are completed on time and in line with agreed specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 1 year + caretaker / premises experience
- Full UK driving licence with the licence to drive a mini bus
- Asbestos & Legionella certificates and experience
- Health and Safety certificates and experience
The role is a temporary to permanent role.
