Are you passionate about supporting young minds and ensuring every child has access to education? We're seeking a dedicated School Attendance Officer to support our client located in the heart of Hackney.
Position: School Attendance Officer
Location: Hackney, London reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Start Date: September
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Work Location: In person
Contract: Full-Time
Pay: TBC
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and track student attendance records daily
- Identify patterns of absenteeism and work proactively to address underlying issues
- Collaborate with students, parents, teachers, and external agencies to support improved attendance
- Implement strategies and interventions to promote regular attendance and punctuality
- Maintain accurate attendance records and produce reports as required
- Provide guidance and support to students and families facing attendance challenges
- Liaise with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with attendance regulations and policies
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students and families
- Knowledge of attendance regulations and procedures is advantageous
