Veritas are looking for an attendance officer (with student reception duties) to join a busy secondary school in Ealing.
The main responsibilities of a School Attendance Support Officer include:
- Regularly tracking and analysing student attendance records.
- Providing students with poor attendance support.
- Developing attendance plans.
- Conducting home visits.
- Offering counselling and guidance to students and families.
- Implementing and evaluating school-wide strategies to improve overall attendance rates.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date attendance records.
- Collaborating with external agencies to provide additional support and resources.
- Delivering training sessions on the importance of attendance.
- Ensuring compliance with attendance-related policies and regulations.
- Assessing students' needs, circumstances, and challenges related to attendance.
- Facilitating communication and resolving conflicts.
- Assisting students who have been absent for an extended period.
Skills and experience
Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.
Knowledge of attendance policies and regulations, as well as experience working with diverse student populations and collaborating with stakeholders.
