As a School Attendance Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the school. Your main duty will be to monitor and maintain accurate attendance records of the pupils. This will include working closely with your team to track attendance, identify different types of trends and address any issues promptly. The ideal candidate for the role of School Attendance Officer, will have a great attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate with different types of people effectively.
 
School Attendance Officer summary:

• School Attendance Officer is £22,000 - £26,000 per annum.
• Monitor the school attendance procedures as defined by Governing Body.
• Line manages student receptionist.
• Monitor registers on a weekly basis, send absence/lateness letters to parents.
• Work effectively with other members of the office to promote good attendance and to achieve attendance targets.
• Monitor school database, record attendance weekly, and produce letters/attendance certificates.
• Must be willing to complete an enhanced DBS.

 
As a School Attendance Officer you will have strong administrative, organisational and ICT skills. It is important for the candidate to have a ‘can do’ attitude and hold the ability to remain calm under pressure.
 
School Attendance Officer requirements:

• Experience of working in a school environment.
• It proficiency – SIMs experience essential.
• Able to analyse data, produce reports and identify key insights.
• Excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
• Committed to safeguarding, equality and diversity.
• Well natured, resilient and enthusiastic.
