Community Clinical Quality Lead - Band 7
£49,178 - £55,492 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata
Full-time - 37.5 hours per week
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Quality Lead within Bromley Healthcare. The role will compliment that of the PCN Clinical Manager and Caseload Holders. The focus will be on developing competencies in practice and upskilling staff, clinical supervision of staff, joint visits and identifying areas for quality improvement. You will work alongside the PCN Clinical Manager to embed changes in the team and support staff through this. There are no line management responsibilities.
We are looking for an experienced District Nurse with the Specialist Practice qualification or the equivalent community experience, who has the ability and clinical knowledge to drive the quality element in the team. You will not hold a caseload or have line management responsibilities, but will be expected to review complex patients and be competent in their assessment and future care planning.
This role will help staff to develop in their roles, whilst ensuring quality improvements in the team. You must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as you will be dealing with a variety of stakeholders within different settings.
Proposed Interview date in Febuary 2024
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday but would be expected to support the nursing teams as required.
Please note that an essential minimum requirement for this post is that you will have a District Nurse Qualification.
The post holder will be pivotal in driving forward the quality strategy within the team working alongside the PCN Clinical Manager and Caseload holders. The Clinical Quality Lead will have responsibility for coordinating the training and practice experience of one or more Student District Nurses.
The Clinical Quality Lead will support other District Nurses & Senior Community Nurses with students and any clinical matters, being a source of clinical expertise.
The post holder will contribute towards and maintain a high quality learning environment for all students and staff.
The post holder will also be expected to identify themes following incidents, observations and support the PCN Clinical Managers with an action plan to improve on any identified Clinical Quality issues.
Bromley Healthcare is a community interest company providing a wide range of services including community nursing services such as district nursing, health visiting to specialist nurses, as well as therapy services for children, young people and adults.
Salary is dependant on NHS experience and current banding/pay point.

  • Promote high standards of care through the demonstration of clinical expertise
  • Caseload Management
  • Facilitate the creation of a positive learning environment in the work place where staff development is encouraged and supported
  • Planning and supporting pre and post registration students’ clinical experience
  • Teaching, supervising and facilitating the learning of one or more students undertaking training leading to a community specialist practitioner qualification
  • Assessing students’ fitness to practise
  • Supporting the induction of new staff and competency assessment and sign off of these competencies (to include established staff).
  • Working with the PCN Managers and Head of Adult Nursing to identify training needs for the service
  • Working and liaising with Higher education Institutions and others regarding development and delivery of learning programmes
  • Long-arm students working with an experienced mentor
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of student District Nurses
  • To assist the caseload holder with clinical aspects of performance management.
  • To deliver on KPIs
  • Support implementation of the quality strategy within the teams.
