Job description

The Community Engagement Team at University of Nottingham are seeking a dynamic, highly organised, Community Engagement Manager to join our team to cover a period of maternity leave. The successful candidate will be passionate about driving our commitment to promoting student safety, wellbeing, and cohesion in the community.
You will play a vital role in fostering positive relationships between the university, its students, and the local community. The primary purpose is to champion the safety, well-being, and harmonious coexistence of our student body within the broader community.
Working alongside the Community Engagement Manager (Social Responsibility) you will provide management support and guidance to the Community Engagement Co-ordinators and student ambassadors working within the team.
This pivotal role entails developing and implementing strategies that enhance student safety, leading initiatives and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure that students feel secure and supported throughout their academic journey.
The role holder should be a compassionate person who can balance the interests of the university, students, and the local community while providing essential support to students and will deputise for the Head of Community Engagement when required.
This varied and specialist role requires excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and planning skills. You should have a flexible approach to work with the ability to react well to changing priorities.

The post is offered on a Fixed term contract until 20th February 2025. Hours of work are Part time (31.75 hours per week), and the distribution of hours will be discussed during the interview. Some flexibility is required, occasional evening and weekend working will be required, to suit the needs of the role.
