Job Description: Community and Events Fundraiser (part-time)
Responsible to: Chief Executive
Location: Woking, Surrey (with some hybrid opportunity)
Hours of work: 22.5 hours per week. Flexible working hours available for this role.
Salary : £20,000 (£33,000 Full Time)

The role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Community/Events fundraiser, who has a passion for the causes of homelessness. You will continue to build a sustainable Events & Community fundraising programme. The role will involve building relationships with donors and fundraisers to increase income from corporates, individuals and legacies.
This role plays a pivotal role ingrowing York Road Project’s voluntary income as well as raising awareness andbrand recognition in our local area.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Chief Executive and Fundraising sub-committee to develop and implement a community fundraising strategy that meets the organisation's income targets
- Support the CEO with building relationships with V.I.P donors
- Support the CEO to strengthen relationships with local businesses in securing support for the organisation's fundraising initiatives
- Develop a York Road Project challenge event that is low-cost but generates significant interest among donors
- Promote challenge events such as the Surrey Half Marathon and other local challenge events encouraging supporters to take part
- Encourage supporters to leave legacies in their wills to support the work of the organisation
- Collaborate with other members of the team to ensure a coordinated approach to fundraising
- Accurately record and manage donor data, promoting regular giving to supporters whilst ensuring we are up to date and GDPR compliant
- Stay current on fundraising trends, taking charge as the ‘go-to expert’, and providing guidance on the latest fundraising trends and techniques incorporating these into the organisation's fundraising activities
- Ensure that all fundraising activity complies with relevant regulation and ethical
- standards
- Create marketing and promotional material in accordance with York Road Project branding, to support fundraising activities as required
- Develop a volunteer program to enhance community involvement and contribute to the achievement of organisational objectives. These activities will be fundraising related, in order to engage local businesses.
