The Philanthropy team are responsible for managing relationships with, and securing donations from, mid & major value individuals and trusts & foundations. The team is split into two functions that work in close partnership: one responsible for managing the internal resource and information required to make high-value fundraising thrive, (led by a Fundraising Resource Manager and supported by this role), and one responsible for the bespoke relationship management and solicitation of gifts from donors (led by a Senior Philanthropy Manager, and supported by a Philanthropy Manager and two Philanthropy Officers).  

 


Main purpose of the job 

 

The Fundraising Resource Officer supports the philanthropy team by delivering the operational and resource requirements of high value and relationship led fundraising at Blue Cross, which also includes some support for corporate and Community Fundraising. This includes (but is not exhaustive to): delivering high quality prospect research to support fundraising targets; managing funding opportunity and proposition information and processes; managing core suite of fundraising assets and delivering information for bespoke donor cultivation; supporting all other operational requirements of the team and fundraisers, including financial reporting, CRM management and event and stewardship support.  

 


Key responsibilities  

  • Coordination of the funding opportunities portfolio and associated processes.
  • Delivery of service, impact and funding information for propositions, bespoke proposals, and donor reporting.
  • Maintenance of a comprehensive suite of Cases for Support, propositions, and fundraising assets to support donor cultivation.
  • Delivery of prospect research requirements, including donor profiles, network analysis, sector research and due diligence reports.
  • Deliver insight and reporting information for financial and performance tracking.
  • Manage the teams monthly financial and reconciliation processes.
  • Development and ongoing management of the CRM database processes.
  • Deliver on any other operational, resource and process requirements that supports the relationship fundraising teams, to include event and stewardship programme delivery support.
  • Adhere to a suite of clear work processes demonstrating compliance with our privacy policy, GDPR, data protection legislation and prospect research best practice.
  • Develop strong internal key stakeholder relationships to drive resource requirements.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience 

  • Prospect research and creating profiles. 

·       Translating the core work of a charity (or similar) into engaging opportunities for donors, both using data as well as written word in proposals and cases for support.

·       Strong understanding of considerations when working with personal data and data legislation e.g., GDPR. 

  • Familiar with CRM or other types of databases.  
  • Running and creating reports and data analysis.
  • Income and financial management. 
  • Managing team operations and processes.  
  • Developing collaborative working relationships with internal stakeholders. 
  • Ability to work well under pressure, excellent attention to detail, prioritise work and meet deadlines. 

 Desirable qualifications, skills, and experience 

  • Working in a fundraising role, particularly supporting a high value fundraising team. 
  • Managing events and stewardship products. 
  • Working within an animal welfare charity.
