The Role
Hays are recruiting for an exciting opportunity for a Community Liaison Officer to join our client on an ongoing long term temporary assignment for an approximate duration of 12 months (rolling, reviewed annually).
You will provide an assist and support the Head of Corporate Relations ('HoCR'), acting as the initial interface between the client, local communities and local authorities.
Key Accountabilities
Stakeholder Enquiries
First point of contact to respond to community enquiries Handling telephone, email and written enquiries from local communities Proactively engaging with members of the community and various stakeholders to build positive working relationships. Community Relations
In collaboration with the HoCR, actively build positive relationships with our internal and external stakeholders. Supporting the Client Contact Team with questions received on the local enquiries email address. Visiting members of the community as necessary. Organising, managing and attending community meetings to update local communities. On-street review at shift changeover (14:30-15:20) Schools and other community group liaison Project Liaison
Being an active participant of the various project teams, including the company's proposed extension Events
Assisting with planning and attendance at community events Promoting the proposed extension project in community events, internally and externally Other potential tasks
Researching opportunities for support of local community interests Hosting external stakeholders and community groups visiting the site external project Supporting HCR with administrative tasks when required Delivering activities in line with our company values (Responsibility, Appreciation, Transparency, Trust, Openness Skills and Qualifications Proven experience in a similar, or related, position. Excellent knowledge of the local area Proven record of managing client, stakeholder and media relationships Working knowledge of Microsoft Office & stakeholder engagement strategies and approaches Strong communication and effective interpersonal skills in order to build and maintain positive relationships with external stakeholders, colleagues, key partners and local communities. Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise own workload and work to tight deadlines. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines whilst showing attention to detail. Flexible, enthusiastic and confident attitude; a proactive member of the team Excellent English, both written and verbal Strong presentation skills Ability and willingness to travel across Chichester and the surrounding areas Benefits Competitive hourly rate along with an annual performance related bonus.
