Contract Type: Permanent and Temporary for up to 1 year

Salary: £28,251.00 - £31,179.34 (Pro-Rata)

Working Pattern:
3 x permanent 36 hours per week
1 x temporary 36 hours per week
1 x permanent 21.6 hours per week
1 x permanent 18 hours per week

Monday to Friday but may be required occasionally in the evening or weekend

Location: Fife Wide

Job Details

  • Enabling people to maximise their independence in relation to their personal and social needs in accordance with the Health & Social Care Standards.
  • Undertaking the keyworker role - monitoring and ensuring the service user is being offered the opportunities, experience, care and support identified in their care plan.
  • Assessing, planning, implementing, monitoring and reviewing of individual support plans.
  • Keeping accurate records of outcomes focused support planning and review for the people whom you support.
  • Providing positive support and encouragement for people to make their own choices and decisions in all aspects of their daily lives. Providing flexible support enabling people to access activities and achieve their personal outcomes.
  • Undertaking a range of personal/physical care tasks when required by assisting with eating, drinking, administering medication, continence, dressing and any other tasks in accordance with the care plan.
  • Pushing and pulling of equipment such as hoists, wheelchairs, bathing chairs and use of evacuation equipment in emergencies working within Health and Safety requirements.
  • Lone working in some instances.
  • Participating in travel duties as required.

The Person

  • Experience with providing support to individuals with personal care needs.
  • Communication skills.
  • Experience of making effective decisions.
  • Ability to work in a flexible way.
  • Ability to be innovative and creative.
  • Knowledge of outcome focused approach.
  • Ability to travel throughout Fife.
  • Knowledge of Health & Social Care Standards.
  • Must have, in the first period of registration, Social Services and Healthcare SCQF level 6 (equivalent to SVQ2) qualification or equivalent to meet Scottish Social Services Council registration.
  • Knowledge of Health & Social care standards (Deliver results - See How We Work Matters Framework).
  • Ability to undertake physical tasks e.g., being able to comfortably kneel on beds and floors and able to rise without difficulty.
  • Team working skills (work together).
  • Basic IT skills (embrace technology & information).
  • Literacy skills.
  • Ability to evidence Continuous Professional Development.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements.
  • Organisational skills, ability to manage and prioritise workload, experience of making effective decisions.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative.
  • Ability to provide a regular and effective service.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
