Your new company

This is an exciting opportunity to join a long-standing family run business with a strong position within the poultry and horticultural sectors. This role will suit an experienced Senior Accountant / Finance Manager. This role will be based in Armagh and will report directly to the Managing Director.

Salary up to £50,000 depending on experience + company benefits including flexibility, career support, on-site parking, excellent company culture and a supportive and collaborative team

Your new role

As Finance Manager you will have a broad range of responsibilities including full management of finance function. You will also be responsible for

  • Preparing and presenting regular management accounts and ad hoc financial reports on request
  • Manage accounts payable incl the payment of invoices and expenses
  • Oversee cash flow management and treasury management and planning review of customer credit ratings
  • Prepare and complete a range of statutory submissions and ensure that they are submitted on time
  • Actively challenge project costing information (past, present and forecast) to ensure its robustness and integrity is plausible
  • Update and maintain product costings
  • Maintain records, files and documentation thoroughly and accurately
  • Assist in month-end-closing
  • Manage quarterly stock-takes
  • Main point of contact for external audit and legal services
  • Take an active role in continuous improvement of processes and technology through identification of areas of opportunity.
  • Business partnering with various internal and external stakeholders.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Fully Qualified / Part Qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, CAI) or qualified by experience.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Exchequer accounts software would be desirable
  • Willingness to use own initiative to solve problems
  • A proven ability to recommend, implement, improve and change processes as required to increase efficiency of the accounting function
  • Must have a strong work ethic, and be well organised
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable and accurate
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to change
  • Good skills in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Teams and Word
  • Knowledge of job costing and project accounting would be desirable.
