We're working with the London office of a US firm, which is actively looking to add to their highly regarded Antitrust/Competition practice at a junior (Newly Qualified up to 2 PQE) level.
The firm has a substantial European practice, and the team advises clients on EU and UK competition law and regulatory matters. This includes obtaining approval for complex mergers before the European Commission and UK competition authorities, as well as coordinating merger approvals across multiple jurisdictions worldwide.
Candidates for this premium role will be London or Brussels trained. 2024 qualifiers will be considered, but you will need to have completed at least one seat in antitrust/competition. More experienced 2022-2023-qualified candidates will need to have been working steadily in antitrust/competition since qualifying.
In either case, you'll have a genuine interest in competition and trade practices law. The successful candidate will probably have London-market experience from a firm with a strong corporate M&A practice. You'll have experience working with the European Commission and UK competition authorities, and coordinating approvals for mergers or investment across multiple jurisdictions worldwide.
You'll be a dynamic individual, comfortable taking responsibility for your own matters while working closely in a multi-skilled, multi-jurisdictional team. The role will include close contact and work with colleagues in the firm's other offices in Europe and the United States.
This position attracts a market-leading salary and quality of work. As such, the bar for selection is high; you will almost certainly have a very strong academic background and have trained and gained PQE at a Silver Circle, Magic Circle or US law firm and be experienced in dealing with the competition aspects of high-value, complex and multi-jurisdictional corporate transactions.
To discuss this opportunity and others we are handling in London or internationally, please send your CV in complete confidence to or call David on +44 (0)7860774391 for a confidential discussion.
