Description
Assisting in establishing and maintaining governance and controls to ensure organisational compliance
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the ongoing update to JM Finn Compliance policies and procedures.
- Maintenance of the Compliance monitoring action log.
- Contribute to the development of the annual compliance monitoring plan.
- Undertake compliance monitoring tasks, ensuring that any actions arising are appropriately agreed with business colleagues, logged and followed up.
- Assist Compliance manager with Regulatory horizon scanning.
- Analysis of FCA regulatory developments to understand the impact on the firm.
- Assist with new starter inductions and general compliance training.
- Work with colleagues in the Compliance advisory team and the financial crime manager as required.
- Ad-hoc support to Compliance Manager and Head of Compliance as required.
- Help to provide Compliance input to company projects and initiatives as required
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Understanding of the scope of the UK Regulatory Environment and practical experience of applying knowledge, gained in a relevant role. Experience of Financial Crime compliance would be an advantage.
- Demonstrable interest in and willingness to develop knowledge & understanding of the regulatory environment and the Firm’s activities
- Strong inter-personal skills, able to communicate with colleagues at all levels across the Firm
- Well organised
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to maintain required standards when working under pressure
- Good attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
- A reliable individual who works well within a team environment
- Good IT skills, especially MS Excel
