Compliance Officer

Now Education are looking to appoint a Compliance Officer for our Leeds Branch.

Unlike many Compliance Officer roles, Now Education offer a commission/incentive based model where you will be paid additional commission for every candidate you source for work on top of your base salary, as well as a percentage of the Branch's billing performance each month.

This is a hybrid-working role where two days will be worked from home and three in our central Leeds office.

Job Description:

The role of the Compliance Officer includes responsibility for checking candidate files ensuring Now Education's Safeguarding and registration criteria have been met and all pre-employment checks and paperwork have been completed correctly before candidates are cleared to work in schools. As part of the Compliance Team, Compliance Officers share the responsibility for monitoring and maintaining the database of live candidates ready for placement in schools.

Previous experience of pre-employment checks and vetting candidates is preferable, however full training will be provided for this position for the right candidate, so experience in the field is not imperative if you are keen to learn and join an experienced Education Recruitment Team.

The ideal candidate will:

• Be diligent in checking details.
• Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Have good IT skills, including using a database and all aspects of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Be able to organise their own workload to meet deadlines.
• Hold relevant qualifications, or be able to demonstrate previous office or education based experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Checking new files are correctly completed and loading Compliance Criteria to the Matchmaker database. Monitoring Compliance Team inbox, dealing with any requests that fall within this role.
• Auditing files (including following up any mistakes with consultants - granting extensions where necessary to get files completed to standard)
• DBS Countersignatory - Checking correct documentary evidence supplied, countersigning DBS applications and liaising with DBS where necessary.
• Logging and scanning to MM received DBS certificates and right-to-work documents, notifying consultants of DBSs with Cautions/Convictions/Additional Info.
• Liaising with LADO and attending meetings if required. Running checks of candidates' teaching qualifications.
• Running Barred List checks.
• Responsibility for record keeping of all on line training for candidates.
• Generally assisting the Sales Team and other tasks determined by the needs of the business, including the sourcing of candidates.
