As a Compliance Officer in our Engineering & Safety Assurance team, you will become part of a team of highly motivated, network-based Compliance Officers to ensure the delivery of quality assurance inspections on Cadent’s, and their Contract Management Organisation’s, activities to ensure that tasks are being correctly managed and delivered in accordance with Cadent’s policies and procedures and Network Plus’ Safety Management Systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Policy Compliance - Ensure that Cadent Operations and their partners are operating within the policy boundaries in terms of technical and safety requirements and make suggestions in the definition of engineering and data policy
Knowledge of Cadent policies and procedures with detailed understanding of (but not limited to):
- CAD/PM/MSL/1
- CAD/PR/EM Suite of Documents
- CAD/PM/SCO/* Suite of Documents
- CAD/PR/SW/* Suite of Documents
- CAD/SHES/MS/* Suite of Documents
Information Sharing - Contribute to the process of sharing initiatives and innovation across the business and partners to optimise performance across all Cadent operations.- Performance Management – Produce and manage a suitable programme and frequency of QA checks to ensure adequate coverage is achieved.
- Support the Compliance Assurance Specialist to ensure high levels of performance are achieved and be able to provide evidence of being able to deliver on targets set against you as an individual.
- Safety Assurance – Provide ad hoc support to the Head of Safety & Assurance for specific projects and/or Safety Assurance activities.
- Performance Excellence – Take an active role in implementing and maintaining the Process & Performance Excellence framework
Skills and Experience
- A thorough understanding of company policies and procedures (specifically around complex mains & service laying activities and Gas Escape Procedures),
- The ability to plan and organise their own work,
- Have a deep-rooted personal safety culture underpinned by holding/working toward a recognised safety qualification,
- A desire to coach, instruct and inspire colleagues to do the right thing,
- The ability to use multiple sources of information to deliver a fair and measured outcome, and
- Tenacity, the ability to obtain a desired outcome through open questioning,
- Good IS capabilities
- Full Driving Licence
Qualifications
Full suite of NRSWA Operative Units (including Reinstatement)- Safety Health and Environmental Awareness SHEA Gas and CCP (if applicable to inspections)
- Service Laying (NC02) * / Emergency Service Provider (ESP1) */ Inspection of Corrosion (VSO2) * (*one formal qualification with appreciation of the other to inspect different disciplines)
- On Site Gas Escape Management (OSGEM)
- Emergency First Aid
- Temporary works awareness
- Safe Control of Operations (SCO 1, 2, 4 & 5)
- Level 3 Assessor Qualification accredited
- Accredited Trench Support
- HS206a SCCF Repair / HS2016b SCCF Emergency /HS206c SCCF O&M
