With multiple facilities across Holton Heath and Winfrith, they offer a comprehensive range of composites manufacturing services, spanning from design and engineering to parts production and final assembly. Their esteemed clientele includes industry leaders such as BAE, Rolls Royce, Airbus, Sunseeker, and Siemens.

The Role:

Operating within a collaborative team setting, your role will encompass a diverse array of products. Your responsibilities will entail the interpretation and comprehension of lay-up drawings, employing your laminating expertise to execute tasks according to the specified lay-up guidelines. Furthermore, your skills will be essential in identifying and addressing any discrepancies or alterations encountered during specific job assignments.

It may also be necessary for you to transition between Composites and GRP sites as dictated by workload demands in the respective departments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engaging in laminating and tooling activities across a diverse spectrum of products, encompassing a variety of laminating techniques like wet-lay, infusion, vac-bagging, or pre-preg.
  • Proficiently comprehending and adhering to lay-up specifications.
  • Scrutinising drawings to verify the clarity of information.
  • Validating the accuracy of instructions on route cards.
  • Conscientiously adhering to processes while upholding the utmost quality standards throughout.
  • Skilfully utilising hand tools.
  • Applying a wide range of fabrics, including CSM (Chopped Strand Mat), and cloths in both dry and pre-preg formats.
  • Expertly identifying laminating defects and taking corrective actions.
  • Maintaining a meticulous record of daily work hours on the weekly timesheet.
  • Ensuring the correct usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Collaborating with the QA team to ensure effective production in accordance with drawings and lay-up manuals, in line with ISO standards.
  • Contributing to the development of processes aimed at enhancing quality and efficiency.
  • Assiduously maintaining all equipment in optimal working condition.
  • Upholding a clean and organised department environment.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

  • Possesses a minimum of 2 years of experience in quality-driven industries like Marine, Aerospace, Automotive, or similar sectors.
  • Well-versed in pre-preg autoclave processes and materials, including carbon and glass.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and precision.
  • Proficient in following procedures, work instructions, and manuals.
  • Exhibits strong verbal communication and active listening skills.
  • Capable of meeting tight deadlines and maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Adaptable to the fast-paced nature of the work environment.
  • Highly desirable to have experience in Motorsport or Automotive composites.
  • An advantage to be able to interpret engineering drawings.
