Conduct Risk Business Partner          

Salary £40,000 to £50,000

Permanent   

FT – 35 hours per week

**Homebased with a monthly visit to either our London or Ashford Hub.

You will be joining Saga’s Conduct Risk Advisory team. This team is responsible for safeguarding and empowering the business to deliver Saga’s business strategy. Our team of professionals are seen as the experts in compliance and risk.

Working as one of our Conduct Risk Business Partners, you will build and nurture our stakeholder relationships, providing accurate, timely and robust regulatory advice and support. You will cover a varied and interesting workload, with no day being the same!

You’ll already be an expert in Conduct Risk or a Compliance professional. Ideally with knowledge and experience gained from an insurance or personal finance regulated firm.

** Remote working with a monthly visit to our Ashford, Kent or Kings Cross, London hub. You will need to be within a reasonable commuting distance to undertake this role.

Main ResponsibilitiesWe currently have 3 vacancies within the team, due to internal moves across the business. A great time to join new colleagues within Saga. Working as one of our dedicated Conduct Risk Business Partners, you will be responsible for either our Insurance Business Conduct Risk or Personal Finance Conduct Risk. You will be fully accountable for the following areas;


Building and managing effective and collaborative relationships with key business stakeholders.
Supporting the business in identifying and managing conduct related risks, including implementation of appropriate controls.
Providing appropriate, business-focussed advice and recommendations on all relevant areas of regulation.
Supporting the business in fostering strong regulatory relationships including timely, accurate regulatory reporting.
Acting as a centre of excellence in all aspects of regulatory compliance, developing and providing training.
Maintaining an effective horizon scanning framework to keep the business fully informed on regulatory and legislative initiatives.
Supporting regulatory change work, led by the first line.
Contributing to the development of the Conduct Risk Team and the overall Risk function.
Always maintaining the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.

The Ideal CandidateYou will already be seen as a compliance professional and have worked in either insurance or personal finance organisations regulated by the FCA. You will have strong technical knowledge and will easily adapt your skill set to our matrix organisation across Saga.

You can demonstrate the following skills and experiences;


The ability to manage a portfolio of work and to balance the demands of maintaining high quality work and delivering to deadlines.
Business acumen with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Have a methodical, analytical, enquiring mind.    
Proven knowledge of FCA regulatory requirements and key conduct related priorities within the insurance and/or personal finance industries.
Can quickly adapt to unfamiliar businesses, processes or products and be able to logically analyse and assess them.
Can exercise strong judgement, identifying key issues and suggest appropriate solutions to our senior stakeholders.
Understands the complex concepts of risk, controls and materiality and can be proportionate when making decisions.


Desirable;


Holds a relevant professional qualification or CII certificate. (Insurance or Regulated Financial Services Operations.)
Knowledge of the Gibraltar and Jersey regulations.
