Job description We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Conference & Events Coordinator to join our dedicated Conference and Events team at Bath Spa University. About the role As Conference & Events Coordinator you will be reporting to the Commercial Services & Operations Manager and will provide support in the management and co-ordination of all BSU and BSV events and commercial activity from conception through to completion. These will include internal and external conferences, summer schools, weddings, gala dinners, graduations, live performances, and accommodation at Green Park House through online booking sites, such as Booking.com.  You will be the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, facilitating venue visits and promoting our department with exceptional sales skills to convert leads into bookings. Your role will also involve meticulous event planning, budget management, and seamless execution while ensuring customer satisfaction. You will be liaising with clients and internal departments, coordinating services, managing facilities, and overseeing event details. Upholding our events policy and compliance standards is crucial, as will be your contribution to marketing strategies and conducting market research for pricing and service enhancement. You will also have the opportunity to deputise and supervise the team when the Commercial Services & Operations Manager is absent.  About you You will be an excellent communicator and be able to build strong client relationships and upholding exceptional standards, whilst being an effective part of our team.  You will pay clear attention to detail and have exceptional organisational skills and be highly proactive in managing workloads and events seamlessly. Flexibility, initiative, and a positive, customer-oriented mindset are essential, as are excellent time management, and collaboration skills, coupled with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google programs. Your commitment to high performance, discretion, and maintaining professional conduct will contribute significantly to our operational success. Addtional information This post is not available on a job share basis. There will be a requirement to work evenings and weekends as required for this role, when only time off in lieu is provided. In addition, some Bank Holiday working may be required depending on the needs of the business. Working hours may be worked over any pattern based on any 5 days out of 7 subject to compliance with the Working Time Regulations.
