A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CONFERENCING AND EVENTS BAR TEAM LEADER AT THE PRINCIPAL YORK.
What you'll be doing...
Reporting to the Head of Conferencing and Events, you can expect your working day to include the following.
- Responsible for the bar set up, stocking and running of the Conferencing and Events Bars.
- Responsible for stock control of the Events Bars.
- Supervision of the Conferencing and Events Team, ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness at all times.
- Responsible for the opening and closing of events, ensuring all jobs are completed to a high standard, and are ready for service.
- Responsible for the smooth operation of event bars, ensuring they are fully stocked, clean and tidy, and ready for a busy service.
- Reading function sheets, and liasing with the Food and Beverage Team, Kitchen Team and Front Office Team to ensure that the event runs as smoothly as possible.
- Briefing the team, to ensure they know how the event will run, and any jobs they must perform during the event.
- Managing the event, a day-to-day basis, delegating of tasks and jobs to team members to ensure the high possible standards.
- Checking that all jobs on the open and close have been completed to a high standard and escalating to management if not.
- Ensuring that the room is correctly set, and rectifying if necessary.
- Managing and administering the daily, weekly, and monthly checklists for the department, ensuring compliance and that the jobs have been completed to hotel standards.
- Responsible for the Health and Safety of guests and colleagues whilst on duty, ensuring that all risk is avoided, and any issues reported to the Duty Manager.
WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU

To succeed in the role of Conferencing and Events Bar Team Leader, you will need the following qualities and skills.
- Delivering a high level of Customer Service
- Experience of working in a medium to large hotel, either within the events team or a Bar Team
- Perferably to have experience supervising a small team.
