Construction Health & Safety Manager:
An exciting opportunity to join the Property function managing the Construction Health and safety policies and procedures.
The position is a specialist role that continues to evolve Asda's way of working in adherence to the Construction Design Management Regulations 2015 and Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.
Working directly with the construction implementation team, consultant base and compliance subject matter experts, the role requires the drive to improve site standards, investigate incidents and agree control measures.
The property health and safety team also manage asbestos through the Asda Asbestos Management plan and continues to update and fulfil any required actions.

“Find your role”
You'll report into the Senior Manager Health Safety Energy & Net Zero.
Manage a team of Safety Health and Environmental co-ordinators along with trusted consultants to deliver the teams accountabilities. This includes but is not limited to:
-Managing the Health & Safety Protocols for wider Construction Execution and 3rd Party contractors ensuring all required standards, due diligence and measures are met and can be demonstrated.
-Responsible for embedding the strategy that ensures the Asda Client Duties are met in line with the Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM 2015) and refresher training on construction.
-Manage all elements and planning of the corporate requirements in construction and safety including managing hazards across our estate such as Asbestos and Radon.
-Responsible for asbestos reinspection programme, inclusive of tenant units along with delivery of associated remedial works.
-Ensure SHE Co-ordinators maintain accurate monitoring of activity on site and the formal appointment of stakeholders carrying out duties under CDM.
-Managing inherent risk in our buildings, delivering a considered approach to control measures and priority focus to drive optimum capital expenditure.
-Work closely with Asda Compliance team to ensure an aligned approach to all Health and Safety matters including attendance of working groups.
-Responsible for ensuring the competence of approved Asda contractors by way of formalised auditing over regular intervals.
-Ensure site standards are inspected over a sample of projects throughout the year to demonstrate that the Asda Health and Safety culture is sustained and improved.
-Work cross functionally across facilities asset and compliance to monitor and close out Fire Risk Assessment actions.
-Engage with the wider business to support the compliant implementation of projects.

For this role you must be able to demonstrate:
-A strong understanding of the construction industry and the requirements of project implementation
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Excellent data handling skills with good working knowledge of Microsoft functionality (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, PowerBI, etc.)
-Dare to Try attitude with an interest in using Future Systems to help transform the way we approach Construction Health and safety
-Proven background of expected site / project standards and the drive for continual improvement
-Passionate about safety and compliance standards with a strong understanding of Construction Design Management Regulations (CDM 2015)
-Experience of line management and developing people
-Strong understanding of asbestos and the management in a property environment
-Qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction certificate and Asbestos P405 are desirable.
