An opportunity has arisen within one of our key clients for an additional Construction Manager to join the team on site at Hinkley Point C. The Construction Manager will work alongside the existing Construction Manager in leading manufacture and installation of complex stainless steel components on site.
Rate: £440 per day PAYE based on a 10 hour day
Rotation: 10/4
Accommodation allowance of £1140 per month.
Mileage paid on first and last day of trip
Paid Holiday - 25 days plus Bank Hols
8% Pension (matched)
Summary of key duties & responsibilities
* Lead day to day operations for HPC Project on site.
* Ensure H&S is at forefront of everyone's mind - working closely with HSE advisors and
compliance to ensure best practice is being implemented wherever possible.
* Ensure manning levels are in accordance with planned numbers.
* Ensure construction activities are carried out in a safe and cost effective manner.
* Drive productivity to achieve maximum earned value.
* Monitor and drive KPI's identifying issues and pinpointing specific work areas that require
attention.
* Work closely with client construction team
* Drive improvement in current processes
* Identify change and request CE's for anything related to construction.
* Communicate and engage with work force as often as possible
* Work closely with Quality, Planning and Projects to ensure all plans and teams are aligned.
* Identify cost and time savings wherever possible.
* Impact analysis on any change that affects construction.
* Ensure schedule is achievable and being worked to.
* Ensure critical path work scopes are being prioritiesed.
* Ensure non working supervisors are effectively leading blue collar work force
* Co-ordinate works with other on-site contractors.
* Lead daily PLOD and weekly PLOW to ensure daily and weekly objectives are clear and precise
according to schedule.
Experience
* Thorough knowledge of stainless-steel fabrication and welding projects
* Experience in leading a large team of blue-collar workers
* Competent with managing timescales and budgets
* Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, standards and specifications
* Experience in a dynamic, fast paced construction environment
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management (desirable)
* Technical HNC/ONC qualified
* Qualified by experience
* Successful candidates will also be required to undertake the relevant CITB touch screen test.
* HPC BPSS Clearance an advantage, ability to obtain BPSS Clearance essential.
* HPC Badge Holder an advantage.
* Typically working a 10 on 4 off Rotation
* Contracted to a minimum of 38 hours a week, OT available
