Consultant - Digital Delivery

Location: Bristol

Salaries: up to £47,700 + Clearance bonus + Performance bonus

Clearance: Applicants must currently hold the highest level of UK Government security clearance DV (MoD, UKSV, West)

All applicants have to be be willing and eligible to apply and obtain UK security clearance to Developed Vetting (DV) level, if not holding an existing clearance.

Essential:

• You will have experience in either the Defence or Security sector
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and experimentation, you’re happiest exploring many options and then getting stuck in to delivering the best solutions

You will have demonstrable skills and experience in one of the below disciplines:

• Software Engineering:
  • Experience writing production-ready code for Frontend (React, Leaflet, etc.) and/or Backend, writing APIs & services (Springboot, Python, NodeJS), understanding of architecture patterns, e.g. DDD, Microservices
  • Experience with Docker, Git, OWASP, AWS, Workflow (Camunda, Activiti, Flowable)
• Test Automation
  • Experience with various languages e.g. Java, JavaScript (NodeJS, React), Python, React, IaC (Terraform)
  • Ability to build & maintain automation frameworks with tools like Selenium, Serenity, Cucumber, Docker, OWASP Zap, SonarQube, etc.
• DevOps
  • Experience with various languages, Ansible, Chef, Terraform
  • Knowledge of the "DevOps toolkit" and CNCF tools; excellent automation experience using Docker, Kubernetes, Tanzu, Jenkins, Nexus, AWS
• Agile Business Analysis
  • Experience gathering user needs, creating stories and technical tasks, business process mapping and working in an agile team
  • Focussed on accuracy and attention to detail; providing developers with a clear understanding of feature specifications
  • Thorough understanding of the business’ structure and objectives, backlog prioritisation with product owners, managing stakeholders - challenging their thinking with strong communication and relationship development
• Experience Design
  • Experience with User research, visual and interaction design
  • Competent prototyping skills using tools like, Figma, Sketch, Invision
  • Supporting workshops, 1-to-1 research sessions, interviews, etc.
  • Knowledge in creating designs to meet WCAG guidelines and designing responsibly for web
  • Knowledge of web development to inform feasibility
• Delivery Leadership
  • Leading multi-disciplinary agile teams to design and build digital products.
  • Experience with Scrum, Kanban, Atlassian – Jira, Confluence
  • Leading diverse and inclusive teams
• Cyber Security
  • Leading multi-disciplinary Experience architecting secure, cloud-based (AWS) applications, inc. CI/CD
  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture, SBD, OWASP, NIST, CIS, NCSC baselines
  • Strong foundation across the cybersecurity technology stack

Desirable:

• Experience working in agile delivery, and are comfortable working as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Familiar with the GDS Service Manual
