About The Role
Hippo Digital is recruiting for Principal Delivery Managers to join our growing consultancy. Delivery Managers act as the engagement lead or site delivery lead for various projects as well as supporting new business activity. You'll also lead collaboration across multi-disciplined teams and provide a high level of support for clients and colleagues within Hippo

As a Principal Consultant, specialising in Delivery, you’ll already be an expert in your field. You’ll also be a leader of people and teams and advocate for user-centred design approaches. Hippo will provide exciting opportunities to share your expertise with, and influence, clients and team members, and to develop as a leader.

Your role in a nutshell:

  • Coach and lead teams in many different agile methods and practices
  • Create, design and implement effective agile ways of working across multiple teams in complex agile programmes of work
  • Build strong and trusted relationships with members of the team based upon leading by example, they show a respect for individual differences and recognise the contribution of individuals to team performance.
  • Strong influencing skills in a range of complex situations adapting style, leading others to see alternative perspectives they would not have seen on their own, to achieve specific outcomes
  • Propose and deliver strategic, cultural and innovative change across organisations
  • Plan & deliver at a programme level from strategy & goals through to teams and execution
  • Provide confidence of delivery plan, of risks & blockers to senior leaders (Is this programme on track?)
  • Identify and deal with potential risks upstream and downstream of the current cycle
  • Demonstrate the ability to build and nurture positive relationships with client contacts and stakeholders, and be considered by clients as a loyal trusted advisor.
  • Ensure communities of practice are represented and function at a strategic level, and you provide advice to communities so that they are best able to contribute to Hippo business.
  • Define the recruitment processes for Delivery Managers, advise on suitability of candidates and lead recruitment interviews

Skills and experience that you need

  • Delivering complex digital projects
  • Agile project management and working practices (SCRUM/Lean/DSDM/APMG)
  • Leading multiple teams of various configurations and sizes in the delivery of complex programmes, from a fully resourced consultancy team to running hybrid consultancy/client teams
  • Collaboration and project management tools
  • Understanding of user centred design principles and practices
  • Line management of colleagues in the delivery management profession
  • Coaching of senior leaders
