Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a consultant to work with us atEast Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust in Emergency Medicine.

We are looking for a doctor dedicated to, and passionate about, improving health and wellbeing within the East Kent community.

Requirements

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Providing high-quality emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide array of acute medical conditions, including trauma, cardiac emergencies, respiratory distress, neurological emergencies, and various other acute illnesses.
  • Leading the triage process, quickly assessing and prioritizing patients based on the severity of their condition and determining appropriate interventions or treatments.
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (like blood tests, imaging scans, electrocardiograms, etc.) to promptly diagnose and initiate treatment plans.
  • Performing or overseeing emergency procedures such as intubation, central line placement, wound management, fracture reductions, and other emergent interventions.
  • Participating in disaster management and preparedness, ensuring the ED is equipped to handle mass casualties or unexpected emergencies.

  • Speciality: Emergency Medicine
  • Location: East Kent
  • Shift patterns: 08:00-20:00 Mon-Fri on-going, part-time hours also available.
  • Hours per week: 20-50 hours available
  • Start date: ASAP- no end date, this is on-going the client will accept short term contracts
  • Rates: £100-£120ph
  • Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies

This is a great opportunity to join Doctors Direct, which enables you to work in multiple Emergency Medicine departments across the country full/part time and be paid great rates of pay. Doctors Direct recruit to the highest of NHS standards and all candidates applying for this role must have the following:

  • Valid GMC
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clinical attachment complete and minimum of 3 months paid experience in the NHS/UK
