About the Role:
As Employee Benefits Consultant, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing our portfolio of corporate clients. Your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality advice and consultancy within an agreed budget. We are committed to achieving client retention and expanding our service offerings while consistently exceeding internal and external client expectations.
Responsibilities:
Client-Centric Ownership:
Anticipate and respond to the ongoing and future needs of clients.
Ensure consistent delivery of outstanding service.
Actively contribute to the development and management of our corporate objectives in Employee Benefits.
Technical Expertise:
Demonstrate extensive and up-to-date technical knowledge in employee benefits.
Provide expert advice to clients within the designated Permitted Areas of Activity.
Relationship Building:
Build and nurture strong relationships with both new and existing corporate clients.
Become the trusted adviser clients rely on.
Internal and External Collaboration:
Develop effective relationships both within and outside the organization to deliver efficient and professional services.
Manage client expectations in line with service agreements.
Reporting and Strategy:
Prepare and deliver detailed client reports.
Lead the renewal strategy for existing clients and negotiate renewals.
Mentorship and Development:
Collaborate with Associate Consultants and team members as directed by management.
Contribute to their growth and development.
Revenue Growth:
Exceed revenue targets through client retention and the development of new lines of cover.
Identify opportunities for cross-selling, referrals, and leveraging our internal network.
Profitability and Pricing:
Ensure all clients are profitable and serviced according to agreed pricing.
Prepare and negotiate service/fee proposals within approved protocols.
Budget Management:
Monitor income to achieve budget goals.
Identify potential unprofitable clients and collaborate with management on necessary actions.
Compliance and Governance:
Adhere to engagement and re-engagement procedures.
Maintain compliance with internal policies, applicable laws, and regulatory requirements
Qualifications:
Essential:
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) as required to maintain and enhance knowledge and skills
Desirable:
QCF Level 4 (Diploma level PFS or PMI) qualification
Technical Knowledge and Understanding:
Extensive and up to date technical knowledge of employee benefits consultancy (eg Corporate DC Pensions / Group Risk / Healthcare) through appropriate industry exams and CPD, including products, markets, the required regulatory standards and their relevance to corporate clients
Keep up to date with key developments, industry/market changes and regulations
IT literate – Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) and relevant internal systems/databases
Ensures that individually and as a firm we “Treat Customers Fairly”
Awareness of the regulatory requirements in respect of ‘advised’ and ‘non-advised’ sales, and in particular evidencing the standards and knowledge required in respect of giving advice and making recommendations to customers
Experience:
Demonstrable experience within similar role in Financial Services
Demonstrable record of high sales success, with ability to manage and develop compliant business from new and existing clients in the corporate client arena
Service and sales orientated: outstanding customer service, translates client needs into engagements, demonstrates commerciality in their actions, established network of clients internally and externally, developing and maintaining strong
relationships
Strong verbal and written
communication/presentation
skills at all levels, both internally and externally
Confident presentation skills, both internally and externally
Ability to negotiate effectively with Corporate clients at Board level (MD/FDs) and senior people in external organisations
Excellent organisation skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks
Ability to work under pressure, solve problems and develop workable solutions
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all areas of work, including ability to produce high standards of documentation
Proven project management capability and experience
Able to deal with change in a positive way
