About the Role

The Consumer Content Editor drives the 'storytelling' piece for Consumer, focusing on relaunching and rebuilding the #GetOutside hub alongside the e-Commerce platform, helping to evolve the customer experience and improve on-site performance, to contribute to achieving in-plan commercial objectives and enable future growth. This role is the champion of 'Helping More People to Get Outside More Often'.

  • Own the content and development strategy for the #GetOutside hub
  • Write, curate and create a wide range of content for the Consumer BU, with KPIs and goals in mind
  • Optimise & improve content for SEO purposes
  • Build and drive relationships across the business unit - with key stakeholders including partnerships, marketing, retail and OS Maps
  • Champion the Consumer mission and support our social purpose through the content platform #GetOutside
  • Pro-actively seek and implement search engine optimisation techniques to bring in more quality traffic to the Ordnance Survey online shop and content hub through organic search
  • Support the wider eCommerce team with web development targets
  • Drive the 'What makes It OS' message
  • Work across the OS Champions programme to build content that will support the storytelling of Consumer products, services and mission

What we're looking for

The perfect candidate will bring an empathetic and inclusive perspective on the outdoor market - with a keen eye for creating experiences and a love of being outdoors.

They must be a self-starter but equally at home in a group and willing to learn and develop their own skills proactively.

  • An excellent writer with good attention to detail
  • SEO experience in a content system
  • Experience in using a CMS System
  • Experience in reading and interpreting Google Analytics
  • Ability to use Adobe Photoshop is desirable

Location

We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you will be required to spend one day a week with the remaining time being a personal choice as to whether you work from home, at one of our regional offices or spend more time at OSHQ.
