Job description

The role of Content Creator is responsible for creating video content and assets for clients social media platforms by capturing footage that reflects the clients brand. The role will interpret creative briefs and respond by creating relevant content as well as post-production editing. The Content Creator will be familiar with a variety of video equipment which you will be responsible for utilising when attending shoots. The role works within a team of Content Creators and reports to the Head of Video.

We are looking for an ambitious self-starter to join our growing Content and Social Media team, based at our offices in the heart of Cardiff city centre. Working in a fast-paced environment, youll be responsible for creating and editing content for some of Wales best-known organisations and brands.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Create video content and assets for clients online platforms (YouTube, websites, social etc), including event coverage, case studies, internal videos, showreels, narrative content and animation.
  • Use Adobe Creative Cloud (Premier, Illustrator, After Effects, and Photoshop) for content creation.
  • Use a range of video equipment, sourcing the most appropriate equipment for a shoot.
  • Attend shoots on location when required.
  • Capture footage that reflects the clients brand and intended message.
  • Work with account handlers and script writers to ideate, create and storyboard new ideas.
  • Understand and interpret creative briefs and respond appropriately, creating digital assets which are relevant.
  • Research and keep up date with current styles, content and trends.
  • Research and keep up to date with video technology, software and AI tools.
  • Be responsible for quality control by ensuring files are delivered to specification across broadcast (specifically Clearcast and Adstream), online, social media and out-of-home channels.
  • Work to strict delivery deadlines and budgets.
  • Be motivated to learn, presenting new ideas and inspiring content to the team.
  • Mentor junior creators and interns.
  • Cover all aspects of post-production, including ingest, editing, colour grading sourcing music and stock, and mixing audio.
  • Bring a script to life through motion graphics to engage a target audience.
  • Develop concepts and ideas for motion graphics and create motion graphics content for clients in line with their brand guidelines.

Produce internal showreels as and when required

About You

We are looking for someone who understands the intricacies of editing, grading, motion graphics and the best practices required to create visually engaging films. You will need to be creative, organised and detail-obsessed, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a calm head that instils confidence in your colleagues and clients alike.

You will be required to have knowledge of file specification across broadcast specifically Clearcast and Adstream, online, social media and out-of-home channels. You will have experience in relevant software, including Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and other associated applications including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Additionally, you should bring experience as a DOP, director, and in overseeing the video production process end to end.
