Form of workA very reputable tier 1 law firm is looking to grow its Contentious Probate team by hiring an Associate Solicitor who has between 2 – 9 years' experience.
Under the Commercial Litigation Department, the Contentious Probate division handles all Will disputes.

The Team
The team you will be joining is one of Manchester's biggest and fastest-growing Contentious Probate teams; this is a friendly, cooperative team where each member is essential to getting the best results for clients.
The type of work the team undertakes includes
- Opposing to the validity of Wills and Inheritance Act Cases
- Will Corrections claims
- Trust Disputes
- The requirement of lifetime exchanges
- Proprietary Estoppel claims
- Conflicts between the Executor and the Trustee
- Deputy or Attorney Disputes
The Role
You will play a crucial role in the Contentious Probate team as an Associate. Along with supporting the team's more senior members and helping to supervise and develop the team's junior members, you will be handling your own caseload.
You will be provided flexible work schedules, great advancement prospects, autonomy, and a respectable wage and bonus scheme in this opportunity.
About you
- Ideally, between 2 – 9 years’ Post Qualified Experience (PQE)
- Significant experience of Contentious Probate work
- The capacity to cooperate with others and be a team player
- Technically sound with strong attention to detail
- The ability to set priorities, control deadlines, and operate independently when necessary
- An understanding of business development prospects and a desire to take advantage of them
- Complete familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules
