Job description

Main Areas Of Responsibility
Manage Health and Safety issues for the department during the shift ensuring a Zero Accident mentality.
Role model Continuous Improvement within the Multidisciplinary team including cross-functional support aligned with operations engineering and technical
Role model for Continuous Improvement by
Facilitating the Production System (WPS) road map
Work to implement improvements within the local area and share best
practice across the sites.
Use workplace layout techniques to improve process flow and eliminate
waste.
Coach and train team members on process improvement methods and activities.
Coordinate internal trainers with the support of the training coordinator, on training and improvement workshops on
continuous improvement thinking, tools and techniques, including SOP and Work Instructions, review and update.
Work with managers and team members to identify areas in need of improvement.
Analyse data to identify trends and areas of opportunity
Facilitate training on continuous improvement tools and techniques.
Monitor progress of Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Support 5S activities' for production areas.
Key Performance Indicators
Facilitate the delivery of the WPS
Compliance to site and group Health and Safety policies in all projects and initiatives.
Prepare a monthly update for WPS progress via a monthly/periodic assessment.
Support Head of Operations in delivery and administration of the OPEX projects.
Create objectives for the training coordinator align with department leads for the purpose of training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals.
Knowledge Skills And Experience
Proven track record of leading, developing and implementing continuous
improvement.
Initiatives, to equalling Green belt level.(essential).
Experience of supporting projects throughout the project lifecycle. (essential).
A sound understanding of CI tools and techniques subsequently demonstrating improvement delivery (Loss and Waste, facilitating profit.
improvement plans (DMAIC), RCA, SMED, delivering operational improvement through 5s principles supported by the creation of clear and concise SOPs.
Possesses appropriate problem solving qualifications (i.e. Green belt six sigma)
A proven track record of working effectively and cross-functionally.
IOSH Managing Safely.(desirable)
Competencies
Excellent understanding of continuous improvement concepts including Six Sigma, Lean, value stream mapping
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Project, Visio, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Ability to deliver improvement projects from inception to delivery, in an environment that requires robust metrics to confirm success.
Ability to support and worked with designing or implementing a framework of continuous improvement in an organisation.
Experience of hands-on implementation of continuous improvement programs and Lean solutions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse at all levels including, senior managers, and subject matter experts.
Strong analytical and project management skills, including an understanding of how to interpret business needs and translate them into operational requirements.
