About the Role: 

 

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving process optimisation and operational excellence, through the implementation of Lean principles, with a specific focus on Warehousing and Supply Chain Operations.

 

The successful candidate will hold at least a Green Belt certification in Lean Six Sigma with demonstrated experience of delivering Continuous Improvement within a Supply Chain and Warehousing Environment.

 

This is a hands-on role, working largely with the warehouse operations team, to instil a Continuous improvement culture.

 

The ideal candidate but will also be required to branch out into other areas of the business, as we progress through our CI deployment.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities Include:

 

 

  • Own the CI Deployment within our Material Management Processes.
  • Apply the concepts, tools, and training techniques of Lean, Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma (DMAIC) philosophies.
  • Map and Identify improvement opportunities, through working with the shop floor teams, to drive incremental improvement.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to identify and eliminate bottlenecks in processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, to develop and implement process changes.
  • Guide, train, and coach management teams in the application of our Operational Excellence Framework, including lean principles and techniques, to allow them to transform their business area.
  • Support the delivery of in-house training/coaching of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques for the operational teams to use and manage.

 

 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

 

 

 

  • Proven experience of implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives in a warehouse and manufacturing setting.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Minimum).
  • 5S, 8D, Kaizen, VSM, PDCA and Standardised Work.
  • Strong Analytical and problems solving skills (Excel).
  • Strong Presentation skills (PowerPoint).
  • Process Mapping (Visio).
  • Proficient in using warehouse management systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
