What will you be doing?

The successful candidate will:

  • lead the Contract Management and Monitoring function to drive value for money and quality from commissioned services establishing whether better outcomes can be achieved working in partnership with Commissioning, Safeguarding and to address key areas.
  • work in partnership with Commissioners to provide robust intelligence and ensuring contribution to appropriate service specifications, contract management arrangements, performance and quality monitoring arrangements and evaluation processes, and ensure key roles therein are identified as accountable for this.
  • line manage a small number of Contract Managers / Monitoring Officers to ensure resource is allocated in a way which meets the need and ensures the team is operating within legislative requirements and the corporate procurement policy and contracts regulations of the Council.
  • Manage the contract management function for the selected portfolio as the single point of access to the marker and establish necessary professional relationships with both internal and external stakeholders in order to maximise opportunities to deliver quality and efficiencies and promote effective change across the system.
  • Play an active role in supporting delivery of services across the Adults, Health and Commissioning Directorate as part of the departmental team.
About you

The successful candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of the contract management process
  • Have a good knowledge and understanding of the adult social care provider market
  • Experience of working/negotiating with partner agencies, providers independent/voluntary sector providers
  • Experience of commissioning, procurement and contract management and developing innovative and successful services in a demanding multi-agency environment
  • Experience of providing advice to operational and senior managers within a large diverse organisation
