An exciting opportunity has arisen to work in Highways and Transportation as a Project Support Officer within our Strategic Contract and Commissioning team within Highways & Transportation.
As part of your role you will be involved in some key contracts such as:
The Highway Term Maintenance Contract that delivers services such as improving the highway network, gritting our roads in winter, filling in potholes and responding to emergencies.
The Professional Services Framework Contract that has four professional consultancy companies who provide a wide range of professional services within the Local Authority boundaries of Kent and Medway. This provides a flexible, resilient mechanism to procure multi-disciplinary technical expertise.
This is a full-time role will have a primary base at County Hall, Invicta House, Maidstone and will include flexible working. You will be provided with the appropriate tools to allow working from home or at any of KCC’s other offices
To provide a consistent, high standard of support and undertake a range of specific project activities to ensure that the Highway Maintenance Contract (HTMC) and the Professional Services Framework (PSFC) contracts are contractually compliant. This will enable us to meet our outcomes and provide the right services including inspecting, repairing, and maintaining our highways to keep them safe and provide the best highway service we can for Kent’s residents, visitors, and businesses.
In this role you will be providing support to Heads of Service, the Contracts and Commissioning Team and other team members as necessary.
The post is varied and interesting providing specialist advice and support on our Professional Services Framework and Highways Term Maintenance contracts. The post requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, resolving some complex issues, collaborating with a variety of internal and external customers and stakeholders.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements. The appropriate standards are set out in the Job Description/Person Specification.
