Job Description
Do you have experience of working in the Electrical or Instrumentation sector?
Are you experienced in maintenance activities within a heavy industry environment?
The opportunity
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be carrying out scheduled maintenance operations on a variety of plant systems with safety and reliability at the forefront. You will be focused on delivering high levels of plant availability through timely value-added maintenance of the plant using your previous experiences of working in the Electrical or Instrumentation sectors.
Over the last 46 years, Hinkley Point B has generated 311 TWh of low carbon and is now entering a new phase in its life of defueling and decommissioning. This involves the safe removal of all spent fuel from the reactor cores, the cooling ponds and stores whilst looking ahead and preparing for deconstruction. During this stage the station will see transformative change and are keen to recruit talented individuals looking for their next challenge into their existing core of expertise.
At a time of Nuclear Resurgence, Hinkley Point B offers a unique opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within an operational defueling environment whilst also looking ahead to future potential opportunities in nuclear new build or decommissioning and deconstruction. Once you have developed your core competencies, you will have the opportunity to take on new responsibilities and further your career with us.
