Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for a Control Systems Engineer on a 6 Months Initial Contract, based in Harrogate.

Role Description
- Modification and programming from scratch PLC\HMI\SCADA code to project requirements.
- Configuration, testing and troubleshooting control panel components (PLC’s, dedicated controllers, safety relays, industrial networking, HMI\PC).
- Testing control panels against project procedures in house (FAT) and\or on site (SAT) as required.
- Support of site commissioning activities as required – remote and\or site visits.
- Ensuring compliance with client specifications and relevant standards (i.e. Functional Safety, IEC (phone number removed), Cybersecurity).
- Development and maintenance of company software capabilities.
- Share development and maintenance responsibilities for company's technology infrastructure.
- Completion of project documentation related to control system.
- Work in accordance with company Quality, Health &Safety policies.
- Conform to company Environmental policy.
Ideal candidate is a person with hands-on approach, capable of both working in our workshop (configuring, testing, and troubleshooting control panels etc.) and working at the desk (preparing code, helping with documentation, provide support for existing client base, etc.). Person with 2 - 5 years of experience would be ideal. The client uses multiple PLC platforms, so familiarization with at least one and enthusiasm to explore more is what we are looking for. There are occasional visits to sites in UK and overseas as required (mostly within Oil&Gas industry). Ideally, it would be adaptable and flexible professional who embraces teamwork, but also enjoys working independently. A person who has inquisitive mind and is well organized.
The Applicant
Applicants will have a degree in Automation Engineering or similar discipline with proven experience of Software Design gained from relevant experience.
