Job title:Control Systems Engineer

Location: Samlesbury – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements. Please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role

Salary: £45,326 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Operations Maintenance is responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability and performance of plant and equipment located at our Samlesbury site. We support business critical equipment associated with the development, test and production of aircraft products and systems.
  • Planned preventative maintenance activities on plant and equipment including but not limited fault diagnosis and repair
  • Topical data and programme backup and storage
  • Power and programme risk management – UPS
  • Ensuring topicality of Control Systems knowledge and industry developments that can provide Continuous Improvement
  • Highlight risks and plan mitigation for operating systems hardware, software and licencing for future obsolescence and supportability
  • Support Cyber security initiatives for malware detection and removal on Industrial Control Systems, and control of remote and mobile access to networks through manufacturing assets

Your skills and experiences:

  • NVQ L3 in an electrical discipline and successful completion of an Electrical/Electronic Apprenticeship
  • 17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations
  • Knowledge and experience of fault finding of 3 phase power and electrical Control Systems
  • Knowledge and experience of PLC Controls Systems and Siemens Solutionline and Powerline, Siemens Simatic, TIA/STEP7
  • An understanding of variable speed drives
  • Knowledge of instrumentation control (PID, Temp, Pressure etc)
  • Experience of creating, storing and appropriate change management of software backups
  • Experience with working on various CNC controllers and PC applications
