Industrial Control System Electrician

Brief Company Profile

Our clients are experts in supplying a wide range of specialised products and services to the UK and Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and the Far East. Working to manufacture new, repair damaged and replace old access machinery and parts.

Industrial Control System Electrician - Job Summary You would be working as part of a small team, building our equipment and working from drawings produced by the engineering team to build control boxes for our custom designed CAN Control Systems, which are used to control and monitor our mobile equipment. These intricate control boxes can include hundreds of wires and components, so the ability to read electrical schematic drawings is required.

Occasionally we repair older machines, which may require you to produce simple notation to document the system.

Basic Hours (Monday - Thursday):

7.15am - 12.30pm;

1.00pm - 4.00pm

Breakfast Break;

10.00am - 10.15am

Lunch Break:

12.30am - 1.00pm

(8.25 hours)

Basic Hours (Friday):

7.15am - 1.00pm

Breakfast Break;

10.00am - 10.15am

(6 hours)

(Paid)

Basic Week 39 Hours

Overtime when available will be paid at:

1.5x

Basic for extra hours

2.00x

Basic for extra hours on a Sunday

Holiday:

8 Statutory Days, plus annual entitlement of 20 days* *There are some variations to this which are explained in the contract terms

Basic Duties

Working in a manufacturing environment which includes the wiring of control panels using electrical schematics.

Electrical wiring of partly completed and complete truck mounted machines.

Working on your own initiative to complete the wiring to be neat and tidy with cable markings as specified on the drawing.

You would be expected to be proficient in the use of electrical instrumentation i.e. multi-meter.

You would be expected to be proficient in the use of soldering procedures.

You would be expected to be proficient in the use of; measuring equipment i.e. steel rule, tape measure.

The manufacturing process will include the fitting of control enclosures and micro/proximity- switches.

You would be expected to have and be prepared to use basic tools of the trade, i.e., spanners and hand tools.

Liaise with the engineering team to refine designs.

Monitor consumable use and notify of shortages.

Further duties (not all specified) which may be required by the management Our machines are sent to the UK, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and the Far East. With consultation with the management, you may be given the opportunity to travel.

Familiar with test instruments and to read circuit diagrams to find electrical faults.

To speak, read and write the English language.
