For one of our Clients, a global leader in the provision of packaging and processing technology to the food, drink and personal care industries, we are looking for a Controls Engineer to join their team!
About the Role:They are a global leader in the provision of packaging and processing technology to the food, drink and personnel care industries, offering an extensive range of bespoke special purpose machinery from handling equipment through to fillers, and as a result of ongoing success and planned strategic recruitment, they are seeking to recruit an experience Controls Engineering professional to complement their existing team.
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, the successful candidate will demonstrate comprehensive skills in the use of mainly Siemens S7 PLC software (TIA Portal), to:
•Design and plan solutions and architectures for automation projects.
•Adaptation of existing projects for both PLC, HMI and Drives.
•Experience with industrial Bus networks. (Profinet, Profibus, Asi, Industrial Ethernet)
•Experience with other Automation platforms AB, Mitsubishi, Omron and Schneider and Servo based control.
Job Responsibilities: You will be able to fault-find on new and existing installations either independently or within a multi-disciplined team. You should have the basic electrical skills to modify and test circuits and be capable of wiring and configuring process devices in the field. Knowledge of AutoCad (ideally AutoCad Electrical) to create panel designs and field wiring schematics from templates. You’ll use Microsoft office products to create user documentation, spreadsheets and presentations.
With a global customer network, the flexibility to undertake overseas travel is paramount, and with locations including Saudi Arabia, South America and beyond, the role will suit only those individuals able to meet such travel requirements on an ongoing basis. The position would be largely office based in our West Yorkshire location with travel as necessary to support projects, breakdowns and customer requests.
Whilst experience of aerosol filling and hazardous area ATEX environments will prove to be distinctly advantageous, training will be offered. The core requirement for this exciting role (aside from flexibility on UK and overseas travel) is a hands-on can-do attitude whilst acting as an ambassador to the organisation and developing new and established relationships, so exceptional communication skills are essential.
