WHAT TO EXPECT
We are looking for Controls Engineering Technical Specialist to join our Engineering Operation department and support development prototype facilities capable of delivering these cutting-edge technologies for JLR programmes.
As a Controls Engineering Technical Specialist, you’ll play a vital part in managing, maintaining, and evolving the control systems PLC’s, Robots, drives, and how they are applied. Your role is critical in ensuring these systems are secure, effective, and comply with the latest standards.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Develop and own lifecycle plans for control systems across JLR sites.
Lead change and assurance processes, ensuring compliance and resilience.
Collaborate with Build and Test Operations Team, Powertrain Test Team and suppliers to optimize system performance.
Support and enhance the skills of site teams, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing.
Resolve operational and systematic issues effectively.
Spearhead improvement and development projects for control systems.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Degree in Systems/Controls/Electronics/Electrical/Computing Engineering or equivalent operational experience
Expertise in Industrial Control Systems, including programming (ABB, Siemens, Omron, Alan Bradley or Beckhoff PLC).
Strong leadership skills, with experience in managing small teams and third-party collaborations.
Knowledge of safety PLC based systems controls testing.
Experience in developing control standards
