Role overview

The Copywriting Lead will work with the Head of Marketing to develop brand and positioning strategies that ensure relevance and drive engagement. Generating innovative, creative, and compelling content that helps the organisation connect with its global audiences, will be central to the role.

By working closely with colleagues to produce multi-channel content, and build marketing projects and campaigns, the Copywriting Lead will contribute to achieving key strategic objectives. This includes recruiting new and retaining existing members, raising the profile of the organisation and the quality profession, and attracting delegates to events and training courses that complement the membership offer.

Main areas of responsibility

  • Content Strategy Development: Develop and implement comprehensive content marketing strategies aligned with business objectives and target audience.
  • Content Creation: Generate engaging and high-quality written and visual content for diverse channels, including blogs, social media, and email campaigns.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams such as marketing, design, and product to gather information and insights for effective content creation.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyse and report on the performance of content marketing efforts, utilising metrics to make data-driven decisions and optimisations.
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay informed about industry trends and incorporate relevant topics into content plans to maintain relevance and competitiveness.
  • Content Management: Manage and update content on different platforms, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and maintaining a cohesive brand voice.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all content meets high standards of quality, accuracy, and adherence to British English spelling and grammar.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Content Marketing Experience: Demonstrated experience in planning and executing successful content marketing strategies, ideally within a similar industry or role.
  • Digital Marketing Knowledge: Strong understanding of digital marketing principles, including SEO, social media, and email marketing, to effectively drive online engagement.
  • Content Creation Skills: Proficiency in creating compelling written and visual content across various formats, such as blog posts, articles, infographics, and videos.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to gather insights and information for content creation, ensuring alignment with overall marketing goals.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Experience in analysing content performance metrics using tools like Google Analytics and using insights to optimize and improve content strategies.
  • Platform Proficiency: Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms for publishing and managing content effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for British English spelling and grammar, ensuring consistency and professionalism in all content produced.
