To act as the principle Health and Safety advisor for the Council, leading on the development of policies and procedures, in conjunction with the Executive Head of Regulatory Services, to support the council in complying with its obligations under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act and regulations made thereunder in relation to its employees, its management of its housing stock and commercial assets and the activites of its contractors and how these activities impact on persons other than employees, the general public and the environment.
To chair and manage the Safety Advisory Group, risk assessing events and activities within the borough in partnership with the Police, Fire Service and other agencies to minimise risk and ensure safety of attendees atevents and activities.
To provide a customer focused service for internal and external customers which is focused on excellent delivery, service improvement and maximising efficiency.
To contribute to the delivery of an effective and focused Regulatory service for the council.
