Job description

We have been a leading figure in publishing for more than 500 years. We have always been a forward-looking organization, maximizing the technology for the day, but the digital revolution is bringing enormous change, fast. That same spirit of adventure and entrepreneurialism is critical to our future success. In a fast changing publishing landscape, OUP welcomes the inquisitive, the inventive, and the ambitious; people who challenge the conventional, and pioneer the possible.

About the Role

The Corrections Coordinator works across the ELT backlist engaging with a wide variety of both print and digital products and stakeholders, under the supervision of the Production Editorial Manager.

This role is responsible for managing the editorial corrections process triggered by a variety of publishing scenarios including low stock, market requests, and other essential corrections. You will effectively coordinate editorial activities to maintain content by correcting inaccuracies, updating topical content, updating changes to product offer and rebranding, and market/customer feedback.

Establish communication with Delivery Project Managers, Designers, Media Managers, Audio Producers, Manufacturing, and Editorial stakeholders to ensure all necessary corrections are captured and made appropriately.

This role sits within the Production Editorial team and at times the Editorial Corrections Coordinator may be required to carry out some frontlist production tasks or larger remediation projects to support the team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with teams across ELT and P&CO to coordinate the end-to-end correction process
  • Engage relevant stakeholders to investigate and action print and digital corrections in line with budget and schedule requirements
  • Manage incoming reprint correction requests from colleagues and markets using inputs recorded on MS Forms and other communications channels
  • Source files from the Archive, maintain data on Novus schedules, and create tickets on MS Teams to manage corrections in line with Manufacturing service level agreements
  • Maintain communications with appropriate colleagues in other departments to ensure the corrections process is followed as expected
  • Ensure all necessary corrections have been implemented by Reprint Technicians as expected, to maintain high-quality products for our customers
  • Ensure reprints trackers are kept updated
  • Identify continuous improvement and innovation opportunities within the corrections process and work with colleagues to ensure that new processes, workflows, systems, and lessons learnt are implemented effectively
  • Be an active member of the Corrections Key User group by contributing to group meetings, actions, and training
  • Provide a comprehensive brief to freelancers and suppliers, and check outputs for quality, consistency, and adherence to editorial standards
  • Monitor freelancer and supplier budgets when reprints are outsourced
  • Monitor and feedback on performance of freelancers and suppliers as required
  • Support the Production Editorial team with ad hoc editorial and project-related tasks as required

We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.

About You

Essential:

  • Meticulous with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and the ability to prioritize. Ability to multi-task effectively and adapt well to the fast pace of change in the organization.
  • Experience of working with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Resourceful and a good problem solver.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude focussed on action and delivery.

Desirable:

  • Experience of proofreading content and managing quality assurance standards
  • Experience of managing freelancers and suppliers
  • Able to engage effectively with and influence stakeholders at all levels in order to represent the team and elicit necessary information.
