Cost Accountant

Reed Finance are currently partnered with a global organisation based in the Haywards Heath area who are seeking aCost Accountantto join their existing team.  Reporting to the Regional Cost Accounting Manager as Cost Accountant this role will support the accounting and finance structure, working closely with operations, and potentially assisting with other facilities as needed.

Day to Day responsibilities will include:

• Execute monthly closing and reporting procedures for assigned reporting units as a Cost Accountant.
• Perform sales and margin analysis, monitor and analyse production variance, consumption, and cost accumulation.
• Conduct the Standard Cost Roll process annually.
• Determine and review sales or production-related valuation adjustments such as penalties, warranty costs, inventory write-offs, and slow or obsolete stock.
• Support annual physical stock count and audits as required.
• Complete monthly Supplemental Reports including Inventory Aging, Sales & COS, etc.
• Process month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, and recharges.
• Work closely with finance business partners to assist in creating forecasts and deviation analyses.
• Perform SOX control testing for regional reporting units to ensure compliance.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Intermediate or Finalist ACMA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Clear and concise communication skills.
• Ability to challenge the norm and look for better solutions/processes.
• Systems knowledge: Experience with Oracle, BPC, SAP is beneficial and preferred.
• Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills.
• Knowledge of SOX / US GAAP is preferred.
