Cost Accountant - Remote Working

REED are recruiting for a Construction based firm, offering a part time / full time opportunity as a Cost Accountant / Cost Specialist for a Construction based Company on a permanent basis.
Salary is up to £35,000 dependant on experience.

Salary - £35,000 FTE

Head Office in Dorchester

• Our Client is developing their construction company and have a number of holiday parks they are looking to build.
• This role is ideally suited to a person who has construction knowledge and experience to be able to accurately record the costs in a construction app. Then maintain costs and asset register in Xero accounts programme.
• Accounting knowledge experience required too.
• Take data from schedule of works (excel based) and input to construction programme. (Procore - training will be provided on its use)
• Input budgets within construction programme
• Check contractor certificates against the budgeted costs and update progress in construction programme.
• Input contractor invoices to accounting system (Xero) and allocate costs to appropriate codes for costing and tax classification purposes.
• Follow up discrepancies.
• Produce regular and ad hoc reports.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, other team member and auditors.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

• Recent / Current experience working in a Construction Business
• Accountancy experience (AAT level Qualification or Qualified by Experience)
• Experience working with projects, analysing costs from the construction company, allocating and being able to push back if inaccurate.

Please note it is essential that you have up to date experience working in Construction.
