Job Title: Cost Analyst
Area: Finance
Reports To: Finance Director

Job Description:

As a Cost Analyst, you'll be at the heart of our Clients finance team, collaborating closely with key stakeholders to track, analyze, and interpret project costs and Research & Development expenditures. Your inquisitive nature and keen eye for detail will drive reporting enhancements, process optimizations, and performance improvements. From forecasting project cashflows to overseeing absorption costing, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate financial information while supporting your colleagues and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement. Main Duties/Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Own project cost analysis across all initiatives
• Support project review processes and contribute to decision-making
• Develop early warning systems for cost management
• Drive process and performance improvements
• Forecast project cashflows and manage time management systems
• Partner with cross-functional teams to enhance project cost understanding
• Ensure timely reporting and reconciliation of company balances
• Oversee other team members and support month-end procedures and processes

Person Specification:

Qualifications: ACCA / ACA or 5+ years QBE

Requirements:

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication skills, able to convey complex ideas clearly
• Must have a proactive mindset with a knack for process optimization
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Excellent time management and prioritization skills

Key Relationships:

• Finance Director: Working directly with the Finance Team - clear communication and regular updates are an essential part of this role
• Chief Financial Officer: Routine and ad-hoc reporting
• Sales and Commercial Colleagues: Timely data submissions and support

Additional Information:

• Occasional travel to operational sites (it is not envisaged that this role will stay away)
• Monday - Friday based at their Head Office on the outskirts of Cheltenham 08.30 - 17.30
